Owen Daniels are supporting an established precision manufacturing business is seeking a Planning / Manufacturing Engineer to join its office-based engineering function. This role is well suited to an organised, detail-focused engineer who enjoys coordinating manufacturing activity, defining methods of manufacture and supporting production through effective planning and process control.Working closely with manufacturing, purchasing and quality teams, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient production flow, accurate documentation and on-time delivery.Key Responsibilities
  • Define and document methods of manufacture from customer component definitions
  • Support fixture and tooling design to enable efficient manufacturing
  • Provide planning and engineering support to manufacturing operations
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and work instructions
  • Monitor resource requirements and capacity to support production plans
  • Use ERP / MRP systems to plan, track and report manufacturing activity
  • Liaise with production, purchasing and quality teams to ensure delivery targets are met
  • Support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks (SolidCAM or EdgeCAM experience beneficial)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production planning environment (preferred)
  • Background or exposure to aerospace and/or power generation components desirable
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Confident user of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Proactive, methodical and solution-focused approach
