Economic Border Security Specialist

Border Patrol Agent (BPA) role is responsible for safeguarding America's borders and protecting its economic prosperity.

• Detain and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
• Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance equipment.

To be eligible, candidates must have prior law enforcement experience equivalent to GS-11 grade level performing duties such as utilizing intelligence information to track illegal operations, criminal activity threats to our nation contraband while serving as a state federal or military law enforcement official leading investigations of fraud contraband criminal activity threats to our nation illegal operations determining sources patterns while serving as a state federal or military law enforcement official appreheinding violators of state federal or immigration laws by utilizing various forms complex technology that includes surveilance detection situation awareness systems communications equipment. Key skills include ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, proficiency in use of advanced technologies including surveillance systems, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills with the public and other agencies.
