Customs and Border Protection Officer

• The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking highly motivated individuals to serve as a Customs and Border Protection Officer. As a CBPO, you will play an essential role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation by enforcing laws related to customs, immigration, and agriculture.


• You will be responsible for inspecting cargo, passengers, and conveyances at ports of entry along the U.S. borders with Canada and Mexico. This may include operating screening equipment such as X-ray machines or sniffers that detect explosives or narcotics.


• CBPOs work closely with other law enforcement agencies to identify potential threats to national security.


• A key aspect of this position involves facilitating international trade while also preventing illegal activities such as human trafficking, smuggling contraband goods into the country.

The position requires strong communication skills both written verbal thereby effective interaction with diverse groups including travelers vendors officials travelers referred medical assistance consular services field operations call for constant interagency collaboration response stakeholders decisions securing solutions domestic partners.
