The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) offers a challenging and rewarding career in law enforcement, allowing individuals to work with an elite team of highly trained professionals.
- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
- Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens, smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations.
- Interpreting tracks, marks, physical evidence illegal entry persons contraband
- Farm checks building checks traffic city patrols transportation vehicle horses vessels watercraft off-road ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles accomplishment USBP mission
The ideal candidate will possess one year general work experience demonstrating ability take charge make sound decisions maintain composure stressful situations learn regulations methods techniques classroom training on-the-job instruction gather concise information questioning observation examination documents records OR bachelor's degree successful completion four-year course study any field leading bachelor's degree accredited college university combination Experience Education calculated resume official unofficial transcripts submitted application One GL-7 grade level if applicant possesses year specialized work experience demonstrates necessary skills analyze rapidly prompt decisions after completing required training apply these skills law enforcement capacity criminal code enforcement determining violation correctional rehabilitation security military etc.The above experience applied connection:Make arrests exercise judgment firearms deal effectively courteous manner connection Law Enforcement matters develop network informants
