As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will be part of the Department of Homeland Security workforce protecting American interests and securing our nation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
- Facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
You will be conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances to determine the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States. Your duties may include preventing illegal entry or smuggling goods across our borders.
Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $61,111 to $124,443 per year. Locality pay varies by duty location. You are also eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay once fully trained.
Qualifications
The minimum requirements for this position include one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level that includes detaining suspected violators using law enforcement methods or enforcing customs laws related to importing/exporting merchandise. If applying without prior law enforcement experience but with education above high school diploma/EQ graduate degree = master's degree or higher OR LL.B/J.D., two years progressive higher-level graduate studies relevant area plus application process completion equal weighted consideration point similarly waived otherwise as described below.
