POSITION PROFILE
Job Title: Jr. Business Analyst
Reports to (title): Director of Business Operations
Department: Corporate/Finance
Basic Purpose: What is the overall function of the job?
Bureau Veritas is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting operations by analyzing data, providing reports, and providing actionable insights. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop analytical skills and gain experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities: What specifically is this job expected to accomplish?
Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to support business decision-making processes.
Budgeting: Assist operational teams in budget and forecast preparation.
Reporting: Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and assist in the development and implementation of solutions.
Documentation: Document business processes, requirements, and project plans to ensure clarity and alignment.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, operations, to gather requirements and provide analytical support.
Project Support: Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
Skills and Knowledge: What skills and knowledge are used to carry out job responsibilities and solve problems?
Strong Excel and data analysis skills
Attention to detail
Basic accounting knowledge
Communication and teamwork abilities
Self-starter and problem-solving mindset
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or in related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Strong problem solving, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently
Organized and detail oriented
Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Professional and concise communication in written and oral form
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel.
Experience with an accounting program or enterprise resource planning application is a plus
Self-motivated, and able to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced environment
Work Relationships
Internal: Employees, supervisors and managers of Petroleum labs within Bureau Veritas, Customer Service, Sales, Technical Services Department
External: Third party vendors and suppliers
Working Conditions: physical work environment, physical effort, visual and listening attention, and travel
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work overtime and shift work as required, including weekends
This position is non Hybrid and requires working in the office
