Role Summary:
Sitting within the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, the Integrated Strategies Group primarily supports the CIO's accountability to optimize the total Fund by assessing, holding and managing investments that do not align with the mandate of existing active investment strategies or long-term portfolio design of the IDs.
The Analyst, in Integrated Strategies, supports the proposal, development, testing, and implementation of quantitative/statistical/machine learning investment research, data utilization, and cutting-edge analytical and engineering methodologies into proprietary investment and portfolio analytics models. As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to be hands-on in conducting and converting research to investment tools through coding the research models and findings.
Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Accountabilities
Contribute to the research and development of investment, cashflow, pricing, and portfolio analytics models that are systematic and scalable
Support development of proprietary research methodologies through application of advanced analytical techniques (statistical, Bayesian, and/or machine learning) involving large scale simulations
Design and develop investment and portfolio analytics and visualizations
Partner with colleagues (e.g. full stack developers) to integrate the developed models into new tools and analytics modules
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline
An advanced degree is an asset
Strong research, analytical, and financial modeling skills
"Expert" Python programming skills
Ability to think creatively
Knowledge of Unix and parallel computations/processes
Practical knowledge of git/GitHub to be able to contribute to a large code base
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Up to 3 years of relevant work experience
