Project Controller
Regular Full-Time – Vancouver, BC; Whitehorse, YT; Saskatoon, SK; Remote
As a Project Accountant I (Project Controller), you will be responsible for working within a project team to support the development, maintenance and administration of project set-ups, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports.
Responsibilities
Support the project team on the development, maintenance and administration of project set ups, project updates, cash flow, forecasts, invoices and reports
Assists the Project Manager by contributing to the development of proposed working schedules for estimating which sufficiently illustrate the sequence of work activities and contract time
Assist with monitoring all actual cost expenditures relative to project budgets
Suggests methods to improve project plan and mitigate schedule slippage. Identifies trends, areas of concerns and makes recommendations for corrective actions
Create, maintain and administrate cost forecasting/reporting to ensure accuracy and visibility of project budgets to project scope/objectives
Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Operations, Project Managers, and clients to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems
Generate invoices for assigned projects according to the invoicing schedule
Prepare status reports, presentations and related project documentation
Prepare any other project financial analysis as required
Assess and document trends and risks of the project related to cost
Complete other projects, reporting and tasks as assigned
Support the Project Manager with document management
All other related duties as required.
Minimum Experience And Qualifications
Education:
College or technical diploma in business administration or accounting
Experience
3+ years of project administration experience (cost reporting)
Previous experience working in an environmental consulting or EPC firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
