Summary: Completes initial part inspection and period part inspections for all manufacturing processes
Experience
College courses in Quality related discipline
Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent preferred
Strong communicator in the English language
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of technical specialties and process requirements
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to review, identify and accept/reject parts based on customer specifications, specifically appearance standards
Strong attention to detail
Functions
Demonstrate 5S Methodology in your work area
Must understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.
Identify any and all issues that require corrective and/ or preventive action and ensure that subsequent actions are documented thoroughly and pursued through to completion.
Utilize defect tracking reports and information (internally and customer generated) to drive continuous improvement on the inspection line.
Provide information to the Quality Manager for use in management performance measurables review.
Develop any necessary forms to ensure effective control of inspection processes with subsequent data to be provided for further analysis.
Administratively support the initiatives of the Quality Manager, including data management and tracking.
Develop and maintain systems for the maintenance and calibration of metrological equipment.
Provide training to employees on ISO requirements and subsequent documentation (procedures, work instructions, forms).
Identify and quantify quality improvements in process, materials and product.
Identify key areas for inspection and control with inspection processes.
Develop inspection methods and procedures for use on the shop floor that are user-friendly and accessible.
Participate and interface with other departments on product realization activities.
Ensure that PPAP submissions are professional, thorough, on time and acceptable
Participate in the development and ensure full implementation of the ISO-9000 quality operating system.
Support production department when decisions needed outside the already provided guidance
Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)
Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook

100% Plant floor (PPE required)

Physical Demands
Job requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs
Must be able to work with push/pull force of up to 50lbs or less
Ability to be present on the production floor daily
Health & Safety
Must use or wear PPE and certain clothing as required by the Company
Must work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
Pay Range: $20-$22/hour.
