We're hiring a Salesforce Developer/Engineer for a 30-day, hourly contract to help us strengthen and streamline our Salesforce environment. This role will focus on:
Integrating third-party apps and tools
Building and refining reports and dashboards
Creating custom Salesforce solutions as needed (automation, objects/fields, validation rules, flows, light development work)
You'll work closely with our team to translate business needs into clean, scalable Salesforce solutions—quickly, correctly, and with strong documentation.
Contract Details
Contract Length: 30 days (with potential to extend based on performance and needs)
Compensation: $15–$20 USD/hour, depending on experience
Hours: Flexible (we'll align on expected weekly hours up front)
Start: ASAP
Location: Remote
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
1) Third-Party App Integrations & Connectivity
You'll assist with implementing, configuring, and maintaining integrations between Salesforce and external platforms/tools. This may include:
Connecting third-party apps via AppExchange, APIs, or middleware
Supporting integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, or integration platforms (as applicable)
Mapping fields, managing sync behavior, and troubleshooting data issues
Coordinating authentication/security needs (OAuth, connected apps, permissions)
Monitoring integration health and error handling
Documenting integration architecture, field mappings, and workflows
Examples of tasks:
Integrate a scheduling tool, dialer, email platform, support system, or billing tool into Salesforce
Ensure data sync is accurate, deduplicated, and aligned to Salesforce objects
2) Reporting & Dashboard Creation
You'll build reporting infrastructure that helps teams understand performance and make decisions fast:
Create and optimize custom reports (tabular, summary, matrix, joined reports)
Build executive dashboards with meaningful KPIs
Design report filters, custom report types, folders, and sharing access
Improve performance and usability of existing reports/dashboards
Ensure metrics are trustworthy (definitions, logic, source-of-truth alignment)
Deliverables may include:
A dashboard pack for sales leadership (pipeline, activity, conversions)
Operational dashboards (lead flow, follow-up, SLA, handoffs)
Funnel reporting with clear definitions and documentation
3) Custom Salesforce Solutions (As Needed)
You'll implement lightweight-to-moderate customizations to support workflow improvements:
Create/modify custom objects, fields, page layouts, record types
Implement automation using Salesforce Flow (preferred), plus workflow rules/process builder where legacy exists
Build validation rules, assignment rules, escalation rules
Assist with permission design (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules)
Potential development work such as Apex, triggers, or Lightning components where necessary (only as required)
You'll also help with:
QA/testing of solutions
Deployments (change sets / DevOps tools if applicable)
Documentation of changes and admin handoff notes
Required Skills & Experience
Core Salesforce Skills (Must-Have)
Proven experience in Salesforce development and/or advanced administration
Strong understanding of Salesforce data model:
Objects, relationships, schema design
Record types, page layouts, validation rules
Experience building:
Reports
Dashboards
Custom report types including bucket, summary, and custom formulas
Strong competency with Flow automation (screen flows, record-triggered flows, approvals)
Integration Skills (Must-Have)
Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications via:
AppExchange tools
API-based integrations (REST preferred; SOAP helpful)
Authentication concepts (OAuth, connected apps)
Familiarity with integration troubleshooting:
Field mappings
Sync rules
Error logs
Data discrepancies
Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have, But Valuable)
Apex development (classes, triggers, best practices)
Lightning experience:
Lightning Web Components (LWC) and/or Aura (helpful, not required)
SOQL/SOSL competency
Experience with integration/middleware tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Workato, MuleSoft—any relevant tool)
Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools and deployment workflows
Data & Operations Skills
Strong understanding of data hygiene, deduping, and import/export processes
Familiarity with Salesforce security model:
Profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules
Ability to write clean documentation and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
