Salary range: $90,000 - $125,000
Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Hours per week: 37.5
Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

SAIT is seeking a Project Manager to join our Major Capital Projects team within Facilities department.
Reporting to the Director of Major Capital Projects (MCP), Facilities Management, the Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering major capital projects.
The Project Manager will support the development and stewardship of major capital facility developments. This role leads external consultants and contractors and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver major renovations and new construction projects for academic and administrative facilities.
How you'll contribute- Lead the planning and execution of major capital projects.
- Manage the transition to operations and activation of major capital projects, coordinating with execution teams to ensure operational readiness and occupancy.
- Oversee logistics related to space readiness, furniture, technology, signage, and accessibility.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Design and deliver communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout all project phases.
- Build strong relationships across campus to support collaboration and alignment with institutional priorities and culture.
- Facilitate decision‑making through established governance structures, including steering committees and working groups.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for executive leadership and governance bodies.
- Lead communication and engagement strategies to support organizational change and project adoption.
- Lead efforts to ensure strategic alignment between construction handover and operationalization of major capital projects.
- Ensure operational requirements are identified, communicated, and integrated into project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement activation and move‑in plans that enable a smooth transition from construction to operations.
- Coordinate with facilities management and other departments to ensure readiness for occupancy and ongoing operations.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, construction project management, interior design, engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience leading Projects in construction, design, facilities, or consultant Project Management.
- 5-7 years of experience working in construction projects, consultant team, or project management for facilities.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential would be an asset.
- Knowledge of construction documentation, building operations, maintenance, and energy systems.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work accurately and effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Proven success in leading and delegating to a large team of general contractors, consultants, and in-house resources.
- Experience overseeing and managing consultants and contractors is an asset.
