About your next Challenge as an Associate Manager, Operations Management:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Operations Management, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for managing, organizing, prioritizing, and directing a group of unionized employees dedicated to operations. The role ensures adherence to production schedules and compliance with quality, timeline, and cost requirements. The Assistant Manager also promotes L3Harris values within the teams to support a professional culture and ensure excellence in maintenance activities.

What will you do:

  • Manage work teams in accordance with the collective agreement and company guidelines;
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate component repair and overhaul activities in collaboration with team leaders, ensuring customer requirements are met while respecting quality standards, budgets, and delivery deadlines; 
  • Communicate project progress to teams in alignment with organizational objectives and priorities;
  • Maintain effective, respectful, and harmonious working relationships with employees.
  • Oversee team work schedules;
  • Review and approve employee timesheets;
  • Support teams in resolving technical issues;
  • Ensure personnel possess the skills required to perform their duties (coaching, training) and foster succession development through effective competency management;
  • Promote and uphold workplace health and safety by enforcing applicable rules and guidelines;
  • Act as a change agent and encourage employees to propose continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Maintain a collaborative environment with other supervisors and internal/external departments;
  • Establish and maintain performance indicators with the team to ensure smooth operational execution;
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of constraints (planning, materials, engineering) to minimize delivery impacts, in collaboration with the Program team;
  • Manage special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the teams;
  • Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with technical and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, operations management, aeronautics) or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in operations management within the aerospace sector;
  • Experience supervising teams (experience with unionized employees is an asset);
  • Strong customer- and results-oriented mindset, with integrity aligned to organizational values;
  • Excellent planning, work organization, and priority management skills;
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities;
  • Demonstrated leadership, availability, flexibility, attention to detail, stress management, and customer service orientation;
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written. The knowledge of the English language, other than the French language is necessary due to contractual requirements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
