Our Capital Projects Group is seeking a Senior Scheduler who develops and maintains assigned capital project schedules, and provides various complex planning and scheduling activities throughout the project life cycle to properly deploy resources, tightly manage schedule, maintain the integrity of the program plan, provide analysis for activity scenarios, provide corridor schedule narrative, and adhere to the financial and business processes.
What will I be doing?
- Develops project schedules for assigned corridor capital projects by establishing schedule logic, floats, and interfaces for all activities and denotes key milestones;
- implementing procurement strategy and models, including PDB, APF, DBB, DBF, P3 life cycle in the process of schedule development;
- Conducts schedule progress analysis and risk assessment, and regularly updates schedule by implementing and monitoring schedule within each project stage and for entire project until completion or close-out;
- reviewing and commenting on external stakeholder schedule updates to ensure compliance to schedule standards before committing to the master schedule;
- regularly assessing risks, analyzing schedule disruptions, and determining root causes; identifying strategies for catching up on lost time, avoiding potential delays, and recommending opportunities to accelerate work completion;
- implementing schedule change management and estimate components to incorporate risk management strategies and plans.
- prepares and implements project-wide progress measurement and reporting system, including roll-up levels, section weighting and reporting cycle calendar.
- prepares progress status reports and disseminates to key stakeholders, with attention to confidentiality, security and urgency of data.
- Leads the review of the project plan's schedule and status during all assigned project phases with the project team and other stakeholders.
- Works closely with project estimators and cost analysts to integrate project plans and assist with confirming their progress reports and preparation of cash flow
- Provides earned-value management analysis, and other technical support.
- Reviews and evaluates contractor and consultant schedules and provides guidance and recommendations
What skills & qualifications do I need?
- Completion of university degree in engineering, business administration, information studies or related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
- Experience developing and analyzing project schedule, procurement strategy and models including PDB, AFP, DBB, DBF, P3, tender comparisons, post-bid analyses and other estimating information to facilitate effective and efficient decision-making by project leaders.
- Experience with all aspects of the Project Master Schedule (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Schedules) in addition to cost control and project controls in a construction environment.
- Expert in Primavera P6 is mandatory requirement.
- Knowledge of the computer application Tilos is an asset.
- MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to develop and analyze project schedules and forecasts completion schedules.
- Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills to liaise with project team members, external agencies, and consultants and prepare tender comparisons, post-bid analyses, and other estimating information, and to facilitates data and information sharing and between internal and external stakeholders
