We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a key member of our Logistics team, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials, load and unload trucks, and transport goods within the facility. Your proficiency in safely maneuvering heavy loads and maintaining an organized warehouse environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace Safety . Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable. This role requires adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE , and the ability to perform occasional Lifting of items up to 50 lbs when not operating equipment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production areas, or loading docks.
- Stack and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to workplace Safety .
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse aisles and work areas.
- Follow all guidelines regarding the use of PPE .
- Support overall warehouse operations as needed, including occasional manual Lifting .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics procedures.
- Strong understanding of forklift Safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including some Lifting .
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Willingness to wear required safety gear (PPE ).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
