Our thriving logistics company is looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our operations in Tampa, Florida. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and retrieval of materials within our distribution center. This role requires proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our supply chain processes. If you possess a strong work ethic and excellent operational skills, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials safely.
- Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to designated locations.
- Organize and stack materials in a neat and orderly manner.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Follow all logistics procedures to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Report any damages or operational issues immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to perform tasks involving significant physical exertion, including Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear designated PPE, including safety boots and high-visibility clothing.
