Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy and damage before dispatch.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of all shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and update tracking information.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Operate shipping dock equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Assist in other logistics and warehouse functions as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices.
