We are looking for a Senior Fullstack/Backend Engineer who excels in backend development, particularly with Java and serverless architectures, and has strong frontend capabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers who are passionate about creating scalable distributed systems, effective data modeling, and delivering high-performance software solutions for our award-winning educational platform. Responsibilities: Design and optimize scalable backend services using Java and serverless technologies like AWS Lambda. Create and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven systems. Build and contribute to user-facing frontend components as required. Enhance existing services for better performance and cost-efficiency. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Architects, Product Managers, and other engineering leads, to bring innovative solutions to life. Mentor junior developers, sharing expertise and best practices. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Ensure code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and adherence to development standards. Document developed components comprehensively, including usage guidelines and examples. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge/Experience: 8+ years of backend development experience, with strong Java skills and familiarity with serverless frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions). Experience with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Web Components). Strong grasp of distributed systems, scalability, and data modeling. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including remote teams in Europe and the USA. Practical experience using cloud technologies, specifically AWS for serverless applications utilizing services like Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and SNS/SQS/EventBridge. Solid understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns and test-driven development. Familiarity with CI/CD tools for automation in building, deployment, and testing. Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members in agile settings. A commitment to mentoring and developing junior engineers' skills.
