The primary role of this position involves the detection and questioning of individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws. Additionally, responsibilities include preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers, thereby ensuring public safety while upholding national security measures.

• Detection: Identify potential breaches in border control protocols to prevent unauthorized entry into the country. Interrogate suspects using expert questioning techniques to gather information about their intentions and backgrounds.
• Prevention: Develop strategies with colleagues to deter would-be smugglers from attempting to transport illicit goods or people across borders. Implement proactive measures such as surveillance operations, intelligence gathering, and community engagement initiatives to strengthen border protection efforts.
