What You Will Do:
- Assist the lead project site superintendent
- Plan, assign, schedule and supervise all work relating to exterior work including coordination with other trades
- Schedule logistics around the site to facilitate a flow of work that is efficient for exterior trades
- Have a strong understanding of foundation work, framing systems, cast in place concrete assemblies, foundation walls, waterproofing, roofing and exterior finishes.
- Coordinate and review exterior details for both performance and appearance at preconstruction stage and prior to commencement of work
- Review scopes and understand Subcontractor scopes and any potential gaps
- Facilitate and schedule mockups of all exterior details, elements and interfaces of dissimilar systems for review by project team and stakeholders
- Review and coordinate shop drawings between trades for cohesion between drawing sets
- Read and interpret plans and specifications, site instructions, blueprints, rough sketches and all drawings relevant to the buildings structure (including, but not limited to - structural drawings, architectural drawings, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and window shop drawings) to determine work activities
- Manage and coordinate shared resources with other superintendents and team members
- Prepare computerized schedule and update schedule reporting complete with visual workflow diagrams. Develop and Maintain project schedules to ensure that all work is completed in time and within budget.
- Track and report daily job productions
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members on an ongoing basis
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with plans and specifications
- Work with site safety personnel to implement occupational hazards and ensure site meets all safety standards
What you bring:
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience
- Forming/carpenter background
- Engineering related post-secondary education an asset
- Excellent knowledge of the BC Building Code and attention to detail an asset
- Excellent knowledge of Building Envelope and Rainscreen Principle an asset
- Excellent knowledge of exterior construction techniques and materials, such as framing, roofing, siding, waterproofing, cladding windows and doors
- Proven performance in leadership and managing both people and construction sites
- Demonstrated effective communication and team-building skills. Be able to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $130, 000
