Inventory Accountant General Accounting

Make your mark while you grow your career As a member of the General Accounting – Inventory team, you will be responsible for recording and reconciling all tubing inventory movements for conventional assets. Utilizing your strong people skills, you will be in regular contact with the Field Operations and Supply Management Teams to ensure appropriate records of inventory are kept.

• Job location: Calgary, Alberta
• Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts (Monday - Friday)
• Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:

• Record and reconcile monthly material transfers of tubing inventory for the 30 conventional warehouses in Western Canada
• Coordinate and perform at least four inventory counts in the year (must be able to work in the field four weeks in the year)
• Responsible for reconciling between E1 ledgers and count records
• Record sale/disposal of controllable equipment and ensure fair value of assets are recorded in the financial statements
• Investigate and respond accordingly to JV Audit Queries
• Generate monthly accruals and monthly account reconciliations
• Identify and implement process efficiencies

What You Bring to the Role:

• 2 plus years of accounting experience preferably in the oil and gas industry (Accounting or Business degree is required)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Effective team player with sound communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel, Essbase, and JD Edwards
