Location Description

Post Consumer Brands Canadian corporate office is in the country's largest city, yet just a short drive from nature and charming small towns. The Toronto office is home to about 40 sales and marketing professionals focused on Post Consumer Brands international presence in North America and beyond. Responsibilities

The Senior Sales Manager is the strategic lead who is responsible for initiating and championing both short and long term external customer relationships to ensure the achievement of the financial objectives of Post Consumer Brands. The Senior Sales Manager is directly accountable for ensuring that both Post and Customer objectives are met while ensuring the trade spending remains within budget.  The position involves working with our Broker Accounts lead and their respective customer development leads to drive head office and retail initiatives to drive growth for Post Consumer Brands.

  • Lead and develop strong lasting direct customer relationships between Post Consumer Brands and assigned customers.
  • Directly accountable for broker relationship of regional customers such as Metro, Sobeys, Pattison, Federate Co-Op, London Drugs and other smaller regional customers
  • Direct account responsibilities for Costco Canada.
  • Key contact for Post brands, Barbara's (Natural & Organic), Private Label, and Nature's Recipe Pet brands.
  • Build strategic annual customer business plans, budgets and forecasts to ensure achievement of key financial measures and brand strategies.
  • Collaborate with external partners to manage receivables and product supply
  • Champion and execute all new product initiatives, trade strategies, category initiatives and consumer promotions for assigned customers.
  • Lead the development and execution of trade spending strategies that optimize trade spend across assigned customers in support of achieving annual revenue targets.
  • Proactively develop recommendations for assigned customers where required to ensure the achievement of Post Consumer Brands financial objectives.
  • Be the customer champion and advocate within Post Consumer Brands on assigned customer strategy, tactics and opportunities to help company achieve objectives
  • Strategic leader for establishing Post Consumer Brands Go To Market Strategy with all major and regional customer base
  • Champion both internally (with cross-functional) teams and externally (with broker accounts) the business plan recommendations to ensure achievement of both Post Consumer Brands and Broker customers business goals.
  • Lead the development of opportunities and risks across multiple Canadian markets in executable programming that can be leveraged across customers.
  • Initiate store level programming that can be executed nationally across customers by leveraging the brokers retail team
  • Champion best practices across the customer team and the entire sales organization to find efficiencies in trade spending and customer management.

Work Location: Hybrid 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday) in the Toronto Office and work from home Monday/Friday.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Customer focused and results oriented with demonstrated record of success
  • Creativity and ability to persevere in the face of objection and to negotiate a positive outcome for both parties
  • Must have years' experience in Branded CPG environment. Ideally have previous account experience with major accounts such as LCL/Sobeys/Metro/FCL/Pattision.  Costco experience would be an asset
  • Strong leadership and sound analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of trade management, volume forecasting, and gap closures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
