  • What You'll Do

  • Readies the Host Stand for the day's business
  • Organizes tour sheets/seating with help of Supervisor;
  • Checks and updates reservation systems (GSR, Open Table);
  • Checks stock of Children's Menus, Crayons, Mints, Managers' Business Cards.
  • Ensures A la Carte and Bar Menus are presentable and there is enough for the day's business.
  • Advises Supervisor/Chef of any large reservations or parties expected.
  • Greets arriving guests in a welcoming manner; determine if an appropriate table is available and seat the guests, bringing all relevant menus and other needs (child seats, crayons, etc.).
  • Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, and ensuring these tables are available on the Open Table Reservation System.
  • Estimating wait times for guests and monitoring the guest waiting list using the Open Table system.
  • Responsible for answering the telephone and booking reservations as required.
  • Directs guests' concerns to Manager or Designate for resolution.
  • Completes Tour Groups in GSR as required.
  • Closing duties include-locking door, ensuring all menus are collected from stations and wiped before putting away.
  • Return all highchairs and booster seats to proper area and clean as needed.
  • Complete requisition sheets as required and deliver to appropriate area.
  • Return Radios and Daily Board to office-check with Supervisor before leaving for the night.
  • Assist in moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
  • Assist in clearing and re-setting tables as required.
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, First Aid, AGCO Regulations, Recycling Program and established Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides guests with information regarding NPC Attractions and Events.
  • Promotes a positive image of the Niagara Parks Commission.
  • Provides quality customer service that meets NPC Standards.

  • What You'll Bring

  • Completion of a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Basic reading, writing and understanding of mathematical operations or have the equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • A minimum one (1) year of experience in the Hospitality Industry is preferred. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to deal with the public with courtesy is essential.
