1. JOB OBJECTIVES

Contribute daily to various financial control and accounting tasks.

2. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Under the supervision of the Head of Finance, the Account Payable Manager participates in daily accounting activities, including:

  • Perform accounts payable activities while ensuring matching, verification, and recording of invoices in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Process invoice payments by cheque, EFT, credit card, petty cash, or bank transfers.
  • Responsible for petty cash (reconciliation and replenishment).
  • Responsible for the corporate credit card (reconciliation and invoice entry).
  • Responsible for credit application requests.
  • Analyze supplier statements to reconcile invoices with JDE and resolve discrepancies when required.
  • Responsible for creating supplier master files in JDE and at the bank for electronic payments.
  • Prepare accrued expense entries for month-end.
  • Assist the purchasing department, when needed, in assembling invoices, receiving slips, and purchase orders, and verifying the cause of document delays.
  • Analyze the general ledger account “Advance to suppliers” and take action when required.
  • Participate in year-end financial and tax audits (accounts payable section).
  • Contribute to maintaining internal controls for various business cycles.
  • Perform any other related task deemed relevant to the position.

3. ACADEMIC TRAINING

  • College Diploma (DEC) in Accounting or Finance, or any other relevant training.
  • Accounting Diploma (DEC) with minimum 5 years of experience in an accounts payable department.
  • Bilingual (French and English) with excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Analytical and synthesis skills, sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and rigor.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Customer-oriented and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, work with minimal supervision, and perform under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent priority changes.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards (an asset).
