Your Impact You are an enthusiastic engineer proficient in low-level programming, networking protocols, and hardware-software integration, equipped with strong communication and collaboration skills. You excel at tackling complex challenges through innovation and precision, while remaining highly organized and process-driven. Your contributions will develop and maintain essential software and tools that guarantee hardware compatibility, optimize network performance, and enhance security for Cisco’s foundational products. By efficiently managing your time and processes, you will deliver high-quality solutions that embed resilience and efficiency into our global communications infrastructure, directly influencing Cisco's leadership in secure, scalable networking technologies. Minimum Qualifications Recent completion or current enrollment in a certification or degree program related to the field (e.g., Associate's, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or applicable certification, plus 1 year of relevant experience; High School Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree with no experience required).
Strong programming skills in C and experience with embedded Linux, supported by a solid understanding of operating system concepts.
Familiarity with network principles, routing protocols, and general networking concepts.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages like Python or Bash, alongside knowledge of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
Understanding of DevSecOps practices and their integration into software development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications: Conceptual understanding or practical experience in AI/ML.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and security protocols.
Experience in FPGA development.
Knowledge of signal and power integrity, as well as PCB design.

Employees in the U.S. receive benefits under Cisco’s eligibility guidelines, including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with matching, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance. Additionally, employees may be eligible for grants of restricted stock units from Cisco, vesting over time based on continued employment. Paid time off includes: 10 holidays each year and 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees.
1 paid day off for your birthday, a year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 wellness days as determined by Cisco.
16 days of paid vacation annually for non-exempt employees, accruing at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time staff.
Exempt employees participate in a flexible vacation program, with no set limit on time off, subject to availability and some business constraints.
80 hours of sick leave granted on the hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with the option to carry forward up to 80 unused hours each year.
Additional paid time may be requested for urgent family matters.
Optional 10 paid volunteer days annually.
Non-sales roles also qualify for annual bonuses under Cisco's policy. Sales personnel on commission can earn performance-based pay in addition to base salary, structured between quota and non-quota components as outlined in applicable Cisco plans. For quota-based roles, Cisco typically compensates based on the following structure: .75% of the incentive target per 1% revenue attainment for up to 50% quota.
1.5% of incentive per 1% attainment between 50% and 75%.
1% per 1% attainment from 75% to 100%.
Beyond 100% attainment, incentive compensation rates may exceed 1% for each percentage beyond quota with no cap.
Sales plans do not mandate minimum performance thresholds for incentive pay.
