Job Overview
A Border Patrol Agent is responsible for safeguarding the American borders.
Responsibilities:
- Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws. This may involve gathering information, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing evidence to determine whether a violation has occurred.
- Prevent and apprehend aliens and smugglers at or near the borders by conducting surveillance, patrolling border areas, and responding to reports of suspicious activity.
- Interpret tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry to identify potential security threats.
The job requires strong observational skills to detect anomalies in human behavior as well as knowledge about various aspects including intelligence-led law enforcement operations.
