JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary function of this position is to prevent the illegal entry of aliens into the United States. This is accomplished by conducting surveillance along international borders using various modes of transportation such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercrafts off-road vehicles ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles etc. The agents also perform farm checks building checks traffic stops city patrols transportation checks duty location impacts pay rates locality pay federal law enforcement higher some locations than others fully trained BPA eligible additional 25% base pay BPA Pay Reform Act 2014 career ladder progression GL5 GL7 GL9 GS11 GS12 promotion next higher grade level successfully complete weeks each grade level。
Duty assignments available at time offer may include Southwest Border prioritized locations U.S. Border Patrol determines duty assignments operational needs which or not align candidates' first-choice preferences relocation required.
