The United States Border Patrol is a law enforcement agency responsible for protecting America's borders. The mission of the USBP is to protect and defend America, while also enhancing economic prosperity by preventing smuggling of illegal goods and people.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws and customs regulations.


• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.


• Preventing and apprehending undocumented non-citizens and smugglers at or near borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations.


• Interpreting physical evidence such as tracks, marks, or other signs indicating illegal entry or contraband transportation.
