• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws by maintaining surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations
• Preventing undocumented noncitizens and smugglers from entering at or near borders

• Annual base salary for newly appointed BPAs varies per grade: $51,632 - $92,219 per year plus incentives up to $60 000
