Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Description

This role requires individuals with specialized experience in enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations. The officer will be responsible for facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel while preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in law enforcement, intelligence techniques, behavior analysis, and risk assessment. Additionally, proficiency in Spanish is required for southern border duty locations.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations Academy provides comprehensive training to ensure officers are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively. Successful completion of the academy is mandatory for this position.

• Law Enforcement Experience:  Minimum one year of experience detaining suspected violators or enforcing customs laws.
• Social Interactions:  Ability to conduct interviews with suspects using proper law enforcement methods.
