As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the nation by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations. Your duties will include conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry into the United States, preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods.

• Typical assignments include:


• Enforcing customs laws to ensure compliance with import/export regulations;


• Pursuing suspects involved in smuggling operations;


• Determining eligibility for travel or residency in the United States;
• Culminating intelligence gathering on transnational crime groups; ,

You may be required to work outdoors under various weather conditions or indoors operating office equipment. Positions at land ports involve prolonged standing on hard surfaces as well as working on foot patrols around 8 hours per day while positions at airports entail occasional walking during searches around 6-7 hours daily both jobs involving excessive use of your hands/arms including walking up/down stairs carrying/lifting items weighing up to lbs shoulder/lower back/head neck constant stretching rotating twisting bending crouching crawling standing sitting & Kneeling - varying periods ability concentrate observe sense detail basic vision acuity near/far distance depth perform tasks complicated by fast-paced environment - moderate noise levels valid driver s license require some candidates depending their assigned post .
