All Customs and Border Protection Officers complete extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) before beginning their assignments. The training includes basic law enforcement skills, intelligence techniques, firearms proficiency, physical fitness assessment,​and examination of cargo/bags/merchandise.
