Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Engineering Manager / Project Technical Manager (PTM) to join our mining team, based out of Saskatoon, SK. As we continue to expand our national footprint, we're proud to build a long‑term presence in Saskatoon. Our Saskatoon office is a strategic cornerstone in our multi‑sector growth plan, enabling us to support mining, energy transition, and industrial projects across Saskatchewan and Western Canada. Bantrel is working with K+S Potash Canada (K+S) as an Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) to expand production at K+S's Bethune solution potash mine near Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan. The final production capacity is intended to grow over the next decades to 4M tonnes per year, doubling the current production output of potash. Key team members will support the project from the K+S head office in Saskatoon and at Bethune mine, with additional support from Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto as required.

Please note the on-project position title is Project Technical Manager. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for assigned projects within the KSPC Ramp Up Program.
  • Ensure compliance with project execution plans, specifications, design criteria standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate Approve engineering deliverables / technical bid evaluations, resolve technical issues, and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering Managers, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Champion safety in design and uphold health, safety, and environmental objectives.
  • Guide technical decision making in line with project priorities / principles and enforce Technical Delegation of Authority
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of heavy industrial engineering experience, including at least one project assignment as a lead engineer either in consulting or owners team project.
  • Proven ability to build and lead multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Saskatchewan (APEGS required).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with potash projects and a mix of consulting and owner's teamwork experience is an asset.
