This role will observe our hybrid model, being in office 1 day per week.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities of Audi RED. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project and management reporting, and ensuring strong controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment. You bring hands-on accounting experience, a solid understanding of core accounting processes, and a collaborative mindset suited to a project-based organization.
Responsibilities
Core Accounting Operations
- Process accounts payable, employee expenses, including bill matching, payment run support.
- Prepare and issue client invoices and credit notes and support AR tracking and follow-ups.
- Provide support in preparation of weekly cash flow.
Project & Management Accounting
- Support monthly timesheet coordination and post project-related costs.
- Maintain project cost trackers and assist with monthly project and BCR reporting.
- Assist with project revenue and expense reporting.
Month-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, reclassifications).
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
- Assist with monthly financial close results and related analysis.
Audit, Compliance & Process Improvement
- Prepare audit schedules and support annual financial audits.
- Assist with government filings, including HST and Employer Health Tax (EHT).
- Maintain internal accounting process documentation and identify process improvement opportunities
Payroll Processing & People Operations Support
- Support payroll administration activities, including entering payroll changes in the HRIS system.
- Assist with tracking benefits entitlements and vacation balances.
- Support new hire onboarding from a finance and administrative perspective.
- Assist with preparation and validation of annual payroll-related filings (T4, T4A, T2200, etc.).
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with AP, AR, and month-end close activities.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data and reconciliations.
- Highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work comfortably and effectively with stakeholders across different levels of organization.
Nice to Have
- CPA student or actively working toward a professional accounting designation.
- Experience working with Zoho Books or similar accounting systems.
- Experience in a project-based, agency, or professional services environment.
