WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

Role: 

We are seeking a talented Production Supervisor- Electrical Assembly Line to join our Manufacturing team. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and productivity of all production technicians on the manufacturing floor. They ensure that production runs smoothly and meets quality standards within the scheduled timeframe. Additionally, they play a key role in hiring and managing team performance. Reporting to the Senior Production Manager, this position will work closely with the entire Manufacturing Team to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities: 

  • Attains full knowledge of manufacturing floor layout, management structure, product/components knowledge, manufacturing/technical processes, "who-to-go-to" with concerns, ideas, questions, etc., Operations and HR rules and regulations, employee corrective discipline process, safety compliance, product quality, understanding order processing/inventory control/labels, etc. 
  • Directs the activities of assigned production area, becomes involved in hands on daily management, personnel development, audits current procedures and creates required SOPs to monitor and improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Drives productivity and fosters continuous improvement. 
  • Maximizes production efficiency, achieves targeted raw material usages, and minimizes waste.
  • Identifies and coordinates the quick resolution of production processes or machinery issues that impact run rates, downtime, or quality, completes all required administrative duties accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Maintains quality excellence and minimizes controllable quality issues by monitoring key operating parameters to ensure product specs, ensures associates complete required quality checks, reviews results of QA audits and communicates to all concerns. 
  • Provides leadership and direction to Production Technicians and holds them accountable for their overall performance. Ensures they receive appropriate training.
  • Addresses performance issues including the issuance of disciplinary action as necessary. 
  • Drives and monitors safety compliance, conducts inspections, ensures deficiencies found are resolved, completes incident and accident investigations and reports.
  • Adheres to company safety policy, housekeeping and compliance with defined standards. 
  • WHO YOU ARE:

    Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Quality Control, Management, Operations (preferred). 
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical assembly, installation, or maintenance and three (3) years prior people supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, schematics, and control panels.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Capability to lift up-to 50 lbs as needed. 
  • Ability to work Manday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm.  There may be a possibility of this changing in the future as required.  
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting technical manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to supervise, train, and motivate electricians and line workers
  • Experience with scheduling, manpower planning, and workload balancing  
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education related to Manufacturing, Quality Control, Management, or Operations.
  • Experience with electro/mechanical manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen)/Six Sigma concepts understanding.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiar with PLCs, automation systems, and troubleshooting (asset)
  • Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude and comprehension skills.
  • Self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
