Position: Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys staying organized and keeping financial operations running smoothly? We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our growing team. In this trusted role, you will support day-to-day bookkeeping and month-end processes, working closely with the Controller to help ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper supports core accounting operations and month-end close activities, contributing to accurate and up-to-date financial records. This role combines hands-on bookkeeping with sound judgment and attention to detail, helping maintain financial accuracy and support compliance reporting. You will contribute to reliable financial information, cash flow visibility, and ongoing improvements across accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-Day Bookkeeping Support
Maintain accurate financial records through regular transaction processing, data entry, and reconciliations across bank and credit card accounts.

Month-End Close Assistance
Support the preparation and completion of balance sheet and COGS reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, prepaids, inventory, fixed assets, and unearned revenue.

Payroll Processing Support
Process bi-weekly payroll for a small-to-medium-sized company using Payworks, including mileage, overtime, vacation, and registered savings plans (RRSP, DPSP, TFSA).

Accounts Payable & Contractor Payments
Support vendor payments, invoice matching, coding, approvals, and contractor payment processing.

Cash Flow Reporting
Prepare and update weekly cash flow reports to support cash monitoring and planning activities.

Invoice & Account Reconciliations
Reconcile invoices to payments and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Collections & Deposits
Follow up on outstanding accounts as needed and process cheque deposits with accurate system recording.

Tax Compliance & Filings
Prepare Manitoba PST returns and assist with quarterly GST and Saskatchewan PST filings.

Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with the Controller by providing timely updates, accurate information, and additional support during peak reporting periods.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Strong experience with balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Payroll processing experience (Payworks or similar systems)
  • Working knowledge of Canadian GST/PST and payroll requirements
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks

Assets

  • Experience supporting small-to-mid sized organizations
  • Familiarity with accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Payworks, Dext, and Excel

Working Conditions

  • Part-time position (approximately 14–20 hours per week)
  • Flexible scheduling aligned with monthly reporting cycles
  • Hybrid or work arrangements considered
