Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is seeking an experienced Resort Sales Manager to grow our sales performance and strengthen our market presence through strategic, hands-on sales leadership.
In this role, you will focus exclusively on generating revenue through group, corporate, leisure, and event-related business while working closely with the resort's leadership and operations teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is located on the stunning West Coast of Vancouver Island, in the traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ – Ucluelet First Nation. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Drive all sales initiatives for the resort, with a focus on group bookings, corporate business, leisure sales, and event-related room blocks.
- Proactively solicit new business through prospecting calls, site tours, networking, referrals, and industry outreach.
- Negotiate contracts and close new business while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across multiple market segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, wedding planners, tour operators, community groups, and tourism partners.
- Represent Black Rock Oceanfront Resort at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions in local and key feeder markets.
Collaboration & Operations
- Work closely with the Event Manager, Central Reservations, Guest Services Manager and resort departments to ensure seamless group operations and high guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate site inspections and client visits.
- Support accurate forecasting and communication of group business.
Market Awareness & Strategy
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and demand patterns to keep the resort competitively positioned.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Central Reservations Manager on rate strategies, group pricing, and revenue opportunities.
Client Experience & Quality
- Maintain strong post-sale relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Work with the management team to ensure service quality and guest expectations are consistently met.
Experience
- 5+ years of hospitality sales experience, preferably in a resort, luxury, or boutique hotel environment.
- Proven success in generating group and corporate business and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales processes, contracting, and negotiation.
Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Confident negotiator with strong closing abilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Relationship-driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
