The Clinical Resource Centre (CRC) operates within the Quality and Performance Program to support the Nursing Resource and Clinical Resource Team, as well as non-ambulance patient transportation, specialty surface rentals, VAC machine distribution, and Contracted security service booking. The office operates as a resource hub for both staffing and services within HHS.
• In collaboration with the CSO the staff of the CRC staff work to ensure day to day alignment of NRT/CRT staff based on scheduling best practices, utilizing Automated Scheduling, Time and Labour Entry software. The CRC staff are accountable for assigning NRT/CRT staff to HHS needs utilizing established policies, procedures and collective agreement provisions.
•  In collaboration with outside vendors the CRC staff facilitate the booking of non-ambulance  patient transfers, ordering speciality surface rentals, distribution and tracking of VAC machines and the request/booking of Contracted security for patient watches.

1. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience
2. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing
3. Keyboarding 40 wpm
4. Knowledge and skill in using computer\: Excel, Word, Windows, MS Outlook/Exchange, Meditech
5. Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget and statistical documents
6. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly
8. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
9. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
10. Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending
11. Knowledge and skill in Kronos ESP (Environment for Scheduling Personnel) Software or automate scheduling software
12. Demonstrate ability in scheduling and familiarity with collective agreements

Reporting to the Manager – Nursing Resource Team, the Business Clerk is responsible for the scheduling and assignments of the NRT/CRT staff and the clerical support aligned to the services provided through the CRC.
