What You'll Do
- Safely operate the Drum Debarker to produce high‑quality chips for downstream operations.
- Monitor drum performance, identify abnormalities, and report issues promptly to supervision.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and support basic troubleshooting activities.
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout, hazard reporting, and inspection routines.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas to support safe and efficient production.
- Coordinate with operators, maintenance teams, and supervisors to maintain steady production flow.
- Participate in cross‑training to support operational flexibility across the chip plant.
- Respond quickly and safely to equipment or production upsets as directed.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma required; technical or mechanical training considered an asset.
- 1–3 years of experience operating industrial or stationary machinery (e.g., debarkers, chippers, conveyors).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize equipment irregularities.
- Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts (WOOWOO schedule).
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new skills.
- We encourage and expect flexibility, as the intent of this role is to develop the capability to operate all equipment on site.
