Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is leading the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

The Intern, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) will assist the ILS team in the successful completion of Systems Engineering tasks. This is a unique opportunity that will provide exposure to marine mechanical systems from the design and concept preparation phases. You will work closely with the ILS Sustainment and Provisioning Lead and respective ILS Project Engineers to review and verify equipment Part Numbers, NATO CAGE Codes, and related technical data for cataloging purposes.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside Drive, North Vancouver.

What you'll do
• Review and verify equipment part numbers, CAGE codes, and related technical data for cataloging
• Evaluate and obtain supplementary vendor-furnished information required to catalog systems
• Present cataloging information at provisioning conferences
• Arrange meetings with suppliers alongside Supply Chain or attend supplier progress meetings to address Requests for Information
• Support Systems Engineering activities related to reliability, maintainability, and availability
• Assist with configuration management and maintenance planning processes
• Prepare forecast plans for component requirements and maintenance activities
• Develop staggering plans for major components to ensure smooth execution
• Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical and production issues

What you'll bring
• Enrollment in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering degree program
• Interest in shipbuilding and applying engineering concepts within a production environment
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial setting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and manage time effectively

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday, May 4th, 2026.
End Date of Internship: Friday, December 18th, Months).
