Hexagon's Positioning+ division is looking for a Data Management Team Lead to join our team where you will oversee our Data Management team and processes. We are a high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. Your activities include performing the administration and coordination of Data Management processes in our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system including: part creation, Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Temporary Deviation Notices (TDN), and data transmission to suppliers and customers.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.
ResponsibilitiesAs Data Management Team Lead, you will be responsible performing Data Management leadership functions while performing Data Management tasks (the expected breakdown is 30% leadership and 70% task work)
Data Management
- Provide change control guidance and coordination for production datasets and documentation storage services
- Administer the Windchill PLM tool (user/document organization, monitoring workflows, etc.)
- Organize and conduct Engineering Change Order (ECO) meetings
- Provide and track dataset / documentation deliveries to suppliers and customer
- Issue Temporary Deviation Notices (TDN) and monitor to completion
- Provide training and assistance to the company for data management processes and the use of the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tool
- Regularly engage with users of the PLM tool and lead the prioritization of improvements/enhancements to increase user satisfaction.
Leadership
- Assign work to the appropriate team member and follow up on the work to ensure it is being completed and escalate as necessary
- Remove roadblocks by working directly and collaboratively with the other functional domain leads
- Lead the formal problem-solving process and ensure the root cause of issues is addressed
- Ensure the Data Management processes are adhered to, provide reporting and drive process improvements based on Key Performance Measures
- Motivate, inspire, and develop team members to ensure they are performing at the highest level
- Regularly provide performance feedback to employees and complete semi-annual performance reviews
- Work closely with internal customers to understand their needs and prioritize their requests
Must-Have:
- Electronics technology diploma and 5 years related experience in data management OR high school diploma and 10 years of related experience in data management
- Strong logical thinking and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to coordinate the work of others
- Ability to provide clear verbal and written work instructions
- Excellent working knowledge of windows-based office applications
- Ability to administer and make updates to complex business systems (i.e. PLM or ERP systems)
