Banks are rigid; we are agile. At True North Mortgage, we're building Canada's most advanced proprietary loan origination, underwriting and lending platform. We aren't looking for "ticket takers." We need a Senior Developer who wants to own the architecture. You will be part of a 20+ person elite tech team, building in-house tools that replace legacy mortgage workflows with seamless, automated experiences.

You'll be working within a modern Cloud-Native ecosystem—deploying to Kubernetes, leveraging AWS, and building AI-driven features that accelerate our mortgage lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Architect & Build: Co-lead the development of complex features using PHP and React, ensuring code is scalable, secure, and performant.
• Drive AI Innovation: Help us implement and scale AI/LLM integrations to automate document processing, data extraction, and predictive analytics.
• Modern Infrastructure: Own your deployments within a Docker and Kubernetes environment.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain the high bar set by our SOC 2 Type 2 status, ensuring data integrity and secure API design are never afterthoughts.
• Problem Solve: Translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions that provide a competitive edge in the Canadian market.
  

Must Haves

• Senior-Level PHP: Deep experience building robust, enterprise-grade applications with PHP.
• Modern Frontend: Strong proficiency in React and the modern JavaScript ecosystem.
• Data Mastery: Advanced knowledge of Relational Databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and caching layers like Redis.
• Containerization: Experience developing and deploying applications using Docker.
• Cloud Experience: Comfortable working within an AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes orchestration.
• The "Senior" Mindset: You prioritize maintainability, security, and scalability. You enjoy mentoring peers and conducting high-signal code reviews.
  

Nice to Haves

• AI/ML: Experience with LLMs via AWS Bedrock/OpenAI/Anthropic, vector databases, or prompt engineering.
• Experience with (or interest in) and HTMX. We've developed a proprietary frontend framework that leverages these technologies to deliver a high-performance, low-overhead alternative to standard SPAs.
• Python: Experience using Python for data processing or automation scripts.
• Business Intelligence: Experience with data visualization and analytics tools like AWS Quick Suite or Power BI.
• FinTech Background: Experience in mortgage, lending, or highly regulated financial environments.
