POSITION SUMMARY Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in human resources and administrative support? The Summer Student position as a Human Resources Clerk offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and record management. Under the guidance of the Human Resources Supervisor, you will assist with recruitment and onboarding tasks, maintaining and organizing records, and contribute to HR projects and initiatives. This position provides valuable experience working with HR systems, while building skills in organization, communication and teamwork in a professional and supportive environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding tasks (e.g., uploading job postings, preparing interview materials and new hire packages)
- Complete administrative tasks related to records management, including filing, data entry, and document tracking
- Prepare correspondence and reports to support daily team operations
- Assist with HR projects and orientation activities
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of employee and client information at all times
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirements:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be available to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the full 16-week term
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of the agency's values, service philosophy, and objectives.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with SharePoint or other document management systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency and client information.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- A valid Class G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
- Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, is required.

FUNDING CONGINGENCY This summer student position is dependent on the successful approval of funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Employment is subject to confirmation of funding.
