We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound logistics of our Houston, Texas operations. The Shipping Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment details. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures within a dynamic logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify shipment contents against order details and shipping manifests.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled and prepared for dispatch.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain organized shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with different shipping methods and carrier requirements.
- Understanding of safety protocols in a logistics environment.
- Willingness to perform occasional Lifting tasks as required.
