We are hiring a Shipping Clerk for our Cincinnati, Ohio facility to ensure the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing orders. This role is a key component of our logistics operations, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to efficiency. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently using shipping software.
- Verify order details against packed items before shipment.
- Prepare shipping labels, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure packages are properly packaged, labeled, and secured for transit.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments or customers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and management regarding shipping operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving tasks during off-peak shipping times as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or a similar administrative/warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight LTL).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform basic physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, such as safety shoes and vests.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
