We are seeking a diligent and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, organization, and staging of materials throughout the facility. Your primary focus will be ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and readily available for production and shipping. This position is crucial to the efficient operation of our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification may be required).
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Verify quantities and identify damaged goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Proper use of required PPE.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding material status.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
