Your Impact As a proactive and passionate engineer, your expertise in low-level programming, networking protocols, and hardware-software integration will be invaluable. You excel at tackling complex challenges with innovation and precision, finding satisfaction in maintaining organization and process throughout your work. Your contributions will include developing and sustaining critical software and tools that ensure the compatibility of hardware, enhance network performance, and strengthen security measures for Cisco's leading products. By adeptly managing your time and refining processes, you will create high-quality solutions that embed reliability and efficiency into the global communications network, furthering Cisco's position as a pioneer in scalable networking technologies. Minimum Qualifications Recent completion within the last 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or degree program (such as Associates, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or specialized certification) plus 3 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with no experience required.
Proficient in C programming with experience in embedded Linux and a solid grasp of operating system fundamentals.
Knowledgeable in network principles, routing protocols, and general networking concepts.
Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (like Python or Bash), as well as familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of DevSecOps practices in software development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications Conceptual understanding, or firsthand experience, with AI/ML.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and security protocols.
Experience in FPGA development.
Knowledge of signal and power integrity as well as PCB design.

Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time accrued at 4.92 hours per pay period.
Exempt employees benefit from a flexible vacation program with no defined limit on usage, subject to business needs.
80 hours of sick time provided upon hiring and each January 1, with the ability to carry forward up to 80 hours from one year to the next.
Additional paid time off may be requested for critical family matters.
