Quality Inspector I
At ChemResearch, the Quality Inspector I is responsible for maintaining quality standards by visually inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results, and occasionally assisting with planning duties. Essential Job Duties: Performs visual inspection of the Plating Process. Performs receiving inspection to identify surface defects, such as corrosion and handling damage. Performs raw material inspections. Assists with follow-up checks on quality problems. Assist with troubleshooting daily production/quality problems. Performs In-Process and final inspections. Assists in conducting internal audits. Assists in defining and implementing corrective/preventive actions. Performs first article inspection on masking, plating, and machining processes. Maintains baking and process logs. Assists with some planning duties. Examines and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions. Performs receiving inspection on subcontracted processes. Assists with training shop floor personnel on visual inspection requirements. May communicate with customers on the non-conforming product(s). Maintains a neat and orderly area. Follows all company safety and health procedures to protect self and other personnel. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time. Educational and Work Experience Requirements: High School diploma/GED, or equivalent experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Quality Inspector or equivalent work experience. Experience in Aerospace blueprint reading (based on material type, and process) and the ability to calculate the surface area. Work requires basic computer and data entry skills. Understanding of micrometers, calipers, and basic industry specifications. Motivation and willingness to work various shifts and some overtime when required. Must conform to the company's FAA Drug and Alcohol Program Policy. Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 hours. Ability to see or correct to 20/25 or Jaeger 1 at 12" Near. Ability to hear. Ability to distinguish color (pass a Pseudochromatic plates test). Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms. Ability to stoop and bend. Ability to use arms and hands.
