Join our team of skilled engineers to help build a robust platform for agentic solutions on GCP. Our Public Cloud engineering teams are dedicated to innovating and maintaining a large-scale distributed systems platform that delivers hundreds of features to production daily for millions of users across diverse industries. Our users rely on our platform to be reliable, fast, secure, and to consistently support their customizations and integrations whenever we release updates. You will need extensive experience in delivering large-scale systems and managing services at a high scale efficiently and automated. Responsibilities Drive the vision of delivering a complete suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud while collaborating with globally-dispersed teams. Architect and implement large-scale Observability platforms. Facilitate execution and delivery by coordinating with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers. Engage technically with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to design and develop top-tier services and systems at scale. Present architectural vision to executives, architecture councils, and broader communities. Provide technical mentorship and career development support to team members. Encourage creative ideas, express your viewpoint, and lead through influence. Make decisive choices, innovate while managing risks, and ensure product success. Foster a positive culture while hiring the most qualified individuals with a commitment to diversity. Engage in development tasks, including coding and feature verification, to support team release commitments and maintain your technical expertise. Analyze root causes of production-level incidents and create high-quality RCA reports. Experience/Skills Required Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant experience. Proven experience in creating architectures for large-scale Observability platforms. Background in architecting and designing fault-tolerant systems focused on scalability and stability. Contributions to open-source projects are a plus. Proficient in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, or Go. Experience with AIOps or AI Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) tools to automate incident resolutions. Ability to define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to measure service quality. Proficiency in using monitoring systems like Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, Zipkin, OTEL, or equivalent systems. Skilled at identifying opportunities to enhance service resilience through methodologies such as chaos engineering and performance/load testing. Familiarity with Kubernetes, service mesh, and contemporary technologies/services on public cloud is advantageous. Demonstrated leadership in software development projects with a strong track record of delivering technically challenging products. Experience in service ownership for cloud-based distributed services operating at a B2C scale. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership. Background in Agile/Scrum development environments with a focus on iteration and adaptability. Strong adherence to software engineering best practices that promote the creation of world-class products. The typical base salary range for this position is $209,700 - $351,800 annually. In select cities, such as those in the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas, the base salary range for this role is $251,900 - $384,100 annually. This range represents base salary only and excludes other compensation components.
