À propos
This is a hands-on, technical role where you'll contribute across the full compute stack from firmware on microcontrollers to ROS data streams on SBCs and collaborate closely with the sensor, electrical, and autonomy teams to deliver tightly integrated solutions ready for deployment in challenging field environments.
A bit about the company: 1. They are at the forefront of developing a groundbreaking, field-proven, hardware-agnostic brain technology that empowers a wide range of robots to operate autonomously in the most challenging environments-hazardous, off-road, and industrial settings-all without relying on GPS, maps, or pre-programmed routes. 2. With hundreds of millions raised, they have the resources to support ambitious research and deployment at scale. 3. Their mission is to tackle one of the world's most complex challenges: deploying robots in unstructured, previously unknown environments. 4. By joining their team, you'll have the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. This world-class team thrives on creativity, resilience, and bold thinking. With a decade of success in the field, they've won DARPA challenge segments and brought together expertise from top-tier organizations like DeepMind, NASA JPL, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, Amazon, Tesla Autopilot, Cruise Self-Driving, Zoox, Toyota Research Institute, and SpaceX.
The person we are looking for: 1. B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 2. Experience with embedded platforms (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, x86 NUCs, custom SBCs). 3. Proficiency with Linux system configuration, scripting, and headless deployment. 4. Firmware development skills for microcontrollers (bare-metal, RTOS). 5. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python. 6. Experience with communication protocols: USB, Ethernet, I²C, SPI, CAN, GMSL. 7. Familiarity with ROS ecosystem, device drivers, TF, and data streaming. 8. Comfort with hardware/software debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logs, power monitors, analyzers). 9. Ability to diagnose and optimize across compute, thermal, timing, and I/O layers.
What You'll Do: 1. Compute System Design Architect and configure embedded compute platforms (ARM/x86, SBCs) for robotics, including evaluation, testing, and selection. 2. Compute System Implementation Bring up sensors and peripherals using USB, Ethernet, GMSL, I²C, SPI, CAN. 3. Compute System Production & Servicing Work with vendors to procure compute hardware, develop QA checks, and support payload integration.
