About the Finhub Team: FinHub sits at the foundation of Coinbase, managing the processing and recording of fund movements for our clients and the business. We handle transactions across crypto, fiat, and internal wallets, manage user assets, and provide portfolio performance insights and tax optimization features. As Coinbase grows rapidly, our operational scale and complexity have outpaced traditional ledgering systems. We are embarking on a significant challenge to enhance our fund movement architecture, presenting a rare opportunity to redesign core systems that will position Coinbase for future success. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop the next generation of our book and records system to empower Coinbase effectively.
Provide technical leadership to teams while collaborating with management and stakeholders to establish strategic roadmaps.
Oversee individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables using your technical expertise.
Mentor and train team members on design methodologies and coding standards.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate our product and technical vision into actionable quarterly roadmaps.
Produce high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.
Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
Proven experience in building fault-tolerant, highly reliable systems at scale.
Demonstrated capability in architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous, impactful problems.
Experience with ledgering or trading systems at scale is highly valuable.
Passion for creating an open financial system that connects people globally.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Aeron, Raft, and high-performance Java.
Experience with cryptocurrency, including knowledge of on-chain activities like interacting with Ethereum addresses and dApps.
Experience in a rapidly scaling environment, such as growing from a small to a large engineering team.

The target annual salary for this position is $218,025 to $256,500 USD, in addition to bonus and equity eligibility, along with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
